I set up my business last year and work as a freelance consultant – do I need to set up as a ltd company
Question asked by @marketingnative
The key benefit of a limited company is limited liability. In other words you contract through the limited company, and if you are sued it is the limited company that will be sued rather than you personally. There are some increased costs, such as the cost of preparing and filing annual accounts. However in order to avoid your own personal assets, such as your home, being at risk in any dispute, we would usually advise clients to incorporate and trade through a limited company.
