What happens if you simply walk away from a property that you have leased

Unless a court order has been issued for a contract to be terminated, both landlord and tenant are responsible to adhere to the terms of the contract.  We wouldn’t advise you ever walk away from a tenancy without notice and that you negotiate terms with your landlord/agent to end the tenancy.  Ultimately, unless all parties to a tenancy agreement have agreed to end the contract, you will be liable for all parts of the tenancy (including, but not limited to: payment of rent, utilities, taxes, security of the property etc)
