I am thinking of selling my investment property. Can I do so when I have a tenant in place?

If you intend to sell your property with a tenant in occupation you would need to sell it to a purchaser who is buying the property for investment purposes. On completion of the sale your solicitor would then write to the tenant advising them that the property has been sold and that all future rents would be due to the new purchaser who would then become their landlord under the existing tenancy agreement.
