Joseph McCullough is a senior associate solicitor in our real estate team who joined LCF Law in August 2025. Having qualified in 2008, he brings almost two decades of experience guiding developers and businesses through opportunities and challenges in the property sector.

Joseph advises a wide range of clients on all aspects of commercial property law, with particular expertise in:

Development projects – including site acquisitions (via conditional contracts, option or promotion agreements), joint venture and collaboration agreements, overage arrangements, estate set-up and disposals of amenity land. He works closely with developers to structure transactions that protect long-term value, streamline project delivery and maximise returns.

Business property matters – including site acquisitions for expansion, finance agreements, restructures such as sales, lease surrenders or inter-company transfers, and portfolio management through lease renewals and rent reviews. He helps businesses secure the right premises on the right terms, manage costs effectively and adapt their property arrangements as needs evolve.

Recent client successes

  • Acted for a national retailer on multiple site acquisitions for new store locations.
  • Advised national housing developers on site acquisitions and finance arrangements, working closely with land managers throughout transactions and assisting in their reporting to group legal.
  • Acted for a well-known local chain of cafés in York and Leeds on the sale of the business and assets.

Clients particularly value Joseph’s proactive, transparent and no-nonsense approach. By providing clear advice and anticipating potential challenges early on, he helps minimise delays and gives clients the confidence and certainty they need to move projects forward.
