Rebecca Ridley specialises in corporate law with over 10 years of experience in the field, having qualified as a solicitor in 2010. She works with a broad range of clients advising on a full range of corporate matters including acquisitions and disposals, group reorganisations and private equity transactions.

Her principal focus is mergers and acquisitions, in particular acting for owner managed businesses. Acting for several private equity (PE) houses previously has enabled her to better navigate and advise owners who are thinking of selling to PE or PE-backed businesses.

Rebecca enjoys acting for individual sellers and management teams, navigating them through what can otherwise be a stressful and emotional process. She is dedicated to ensuring that her clients understand the transaction process and what is happening at each stage by breaking down complex legal concepts and explaining these in an easy-to-understand format. It is important to her that her clients feel supported and comfortable throughout the journey and that they are protected going forward.

Matters Rebecca has recently worked on:

  • Acting for the individual shareholders on the investment in the Boston Energy Group by LDC Private Equity. This won deal of the year (£25m+) at the 2023 Insider Yorkshire Dealmaker Awards.
  • Acting for management in relation to the investment in Tribepad by BGF. This was shortlisted for deal of the year (£5m-£25m) at the 2023 Insider Yorkshire Dealmaker Awards.
  • Acting for the family shareholders on the sale of a group of companies to an employee ownership trust, which included the implementation of a pre-sale group reorganisation.
  • Acting for the selling shareholders on the sale of their family run business to IQVIA.
  • Acting for the principal shareholders of Alufold Direct in connection with the investment in it by Literacy Capital.

Having two young daughters doesn’t leave Rebecca with much spare time, but when she has the opportunity she enjoys running and spending time outdoors.
