Ryan Cotton is an associate in our real estate team based at our Bradford office, who qualified as a solicitor in 2021.
Ryan deals with leases for both landlords and tenants as well as lease-related transactions, ensuring that landlords are adequately protected and tenants have a lease that fits their business’ needs. He gets a great deal of satisfaction from helping clients strike a good deal, facilitating their continued growth.
He also acts for charities in acquisitions and disposals of property used for charitable purposes and in the grant of leases to enable the charities to continue providing their services to those that need it, which he finds highly rewarding.
In addition, Ryan acts for high net-worth individuals in sales, purchases and transfers into their limited company.
Matters Ryan has worked on include:
- A small residential development site set up with appropriate wayleaves for services
- Transfer of residential properties from individual name into new limited company
- Advice on various tenancy and licence documents for a charity
- Acted for various tenants in a high-value leases over warehouses
Now a keen footballer and chess player, in his teens Ryan represented England in the Kickboxing World Championships, winning two world silver medals. He was also a member of his parish council for three years and trustee of a local sports centre valued at over £2 million.
