Legal Executive Sue Butterill qualified in 2004 and is a member of our Family Law Department.

Sue has extensive expertise in Children Act cases and is on hand to advise in divorce, financial matters and domestic abuse matters.

Sue has acted in particularly difficult cases, such as, where one partner seeks to prevent the other partner from having contact with their child or where serious allegations of physical and sexual abuse are levelled.

Sue says: “I enjoy the human interaction, assisting clients to find a way through what is often a very traumatic and distressing period of their lives. I enjoy the challenge of helping clients to achieve the best possible outcome given the circumstances of their case.”

Sue enjoys the the outdoors and travelling as much as she can. The most memorable place she has been to is the South Island of New Zealand. Highlights were watching the sun rise in Kaikoura and a helicopter ride above the Mount Cook National Park which she was a little reluctant to do. It was, however, spectacular and worth overcoming her misgivings about the flight.
