Tim Axe has over 25 years’ experience in planning work and is a Partner in LCF Law’s Planning department based at the firm’s Harrogate office.
Tim specialises in agricultural and rural planning matters and the removal of agricultural occupancy restrictions. With a local government background, he assesses development potential, local plan representations relating to allocation of land for development and acts as a planning applications agent.
His expertise is often required in listed building and conservation area issues, including applications and appeals, as well as developments from housing and employment to barn conversions.

The only lawyer in the region to specialise in planning work, Tim handles enforcement issues and wider local government matters including highway issues, Ombudsman complaints and Judicial Review.
Key cases included preventing a 3,000-housing development to be built following local objections and handling a complex case involving residents and a green waste composting site plan.
A Law Society Planning Panel and Agricultural Law Association member, Tim is also a Royal Town Planning Institute Legal Associate and holds the Law Society’s Diploma in Local Government Law and Practice.
Oxford graduate Tim moved to Mills and Reeve LLP for his training contract in Norwich and also worked for Norwich City Council during 1986-88 before joining Barber Titleys in 1993 which later merged with LCF.
Tim lives in North Yorkshire with his wife and three children. He enjoys traveling and playing sport.
