LCF Law appoints a new Head of Finance

A Yorkshire law firm has strengthened its senior management team with the appointment of James Nuttall as head of finance.

James joins LCF Law from Lupton Fawcett, where he spent 28 years, the last nine as finance director and a board member. An ACCA-qualified accountant, he brings extensive experience in financial planning, compliance, cash management and regulatory oversight, and will also serve as the firm’s COFA.

At LCF Law, he will lead a team of seven and the move represents a continuation of James’s career in the legal sector. He said: “I was drawn to LCF Law by its culture, ambitious growth plans and highly collaborative working style. The leadership team all have great drive and determination, and the firm will achieve its best ever year this year, which is very exciting.”

James, who already had professional connections at the firm, added: “I already knew non-executive director, David Mattocks, and have previously worked with IT director, James Hood, amongst others, all of whom had such positive things to say about the firm. Moving to LCF Law felt like a great fit, both professionally and personally, and it allows me to continue working in the legal industry, which is something I really enjoy.”

LCF Law’s managing partner, Ragan Montgomery, welcomed James’s appointment. She said: “James brings the right sort of experience to the firm at an important stage in our growth plans. He has an outstanding track record, and his depth of knowledge will be invaluable as we continue to expand. His collaborative approach fits perfectly with our culture and strategic ambitions, and we are thrilled to have him on board.”

James will be based at LCF Law’s Bradford office, where he will oversee financial operations across the business and its other offices in Leeds, Harrogate and Ilkley. His arrival underlines the firm’s focus on investing in senior talent to support continued growth and deliver strong client outcomes across Yorkshire.
