Employment Rights Bill: what we know and what we don’t
How job satisfaction is the key to success at LCF Law
Following our inclusion in The Sunday Times Best Places to Work, we consider why we scored so highly for job satisfaction and how this benefits our colleagues and clients.
Our 30 second video gives an overview of our Sunday Times survey results regarding job satisfaction.
Our team gave the firm an overall 89% score for job satisfaction, which is 18% higher than the industry average.
Well run: 87% of our team said they work in a well-run organisation.
Development: 86% of our team said they are being developed.
Management: 94% of our team said they have a good relationship with their manager.
Enjoyment: 87% of our team said they enjoy their job.
Respect: 90% of our team said they are treated with respect.
Job satisfaction is key to our success and happiness at work. It derives both from the work being done and the working conditions, as our high scores across the five key drivers in the survey demonstrate.
Well run - Our strategy and colleagues’ roles within it are clearly defined and communicated at all levels. We consider every member of staff to be an essential part of the firm and give everyone the opportunity to have their say about its future development.
Development - We support all our colleagues in their career development and maximising their potential, providing structured training and mentoring. We have developed a series of Pathways – guides to behaviours and conduct – that direct colleagues to what is expected of them to reach the next level of their career progression with us.
Management -All colleagues have quarterly appraisals with their managers to gain valuable feedback, advice and direction, and to discuss their personal and professional development. Regular contact and team meetings strengthen these working relationships and colleagues are encouraged (but not obliged) to bond outside work too.
Enjoyment - We believe life is too short to work in a job you don’t enjoy, and support colleagues to focus on the kind of work they like doing. But it’s not all about work. Our social and charity committees organise a range of activities to help staff have fun and socialise outside work including events, sports and volunteering.
Respect - We are an equal opportunities employer and treat people from all backgrounds and at all levels of their career with respect. Our robust Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Policy and procedures ensure that staff feel safe, confident and comfortable at work and know where to go for help if they ever need it.
Contentment at work is critical to employee wellbeing and key to our success as a firm. Not only does it help colleagues feel happy and fulfilled in their roles – it results in better performance and retention too, benefits that are passed on to the client.
