How our colleagues have the power at LCF Law

Following our inclusion in The Sunday Times Best Places to Work, we explore how giving our staff autonomy helps with job satisfaction and customer service.

Our 30 second video gives an overview of the Sunday Times survey results for LCF Law.

Our team gave the firm an overall 87% score for empowerment, which is 15% higher than the industry average.

Autonomy: 85% of our team said they are allowed to make decisions.
Trust: 86% of our team said they are trusted to make decisions.
Information and development: 89% of our team said they have what they need to do their job well.

At LCF our people are the heart of the firm. We value each individual and the knowledge and expertise they bring. Everyone who joins us has had different experiences and we appreciate that they see things from a fresh point of view.

We believe in fostering a culture where all colleagues are empowered to make decisions. We have faith in our staff’s knowledge and skills and are confident that we can trust their instincts.

Giving staff autonomy is critical for job satisfaction and wellbeing at work. It also improves accountability and customer service and helps staff to solve problems quickly.

Clear and structured progression plans are provided for staff at all levels and across departments to support their development and help them to make informed decisions. We want our colleagues to grow their careers with us and have many long serving colleagues who have progressed from junior lawyer to solicitor to partner.

All legal and support staff are an essential part of the firm and we want to hear what everyone has to say about its future development. Engaging with our colleagues, listening and breaking down departmental and hierarchical barriers are of utmost importance to us.

We use listening groups and surveys to gather ideas and use these to make continuous improvement and empower our colleagues. We’re not afraid to be different and we welcome change and new ideas.

We’re proud that our staff feel able to take the initiative and responsibility for their role and feel that they have the appropriate support and mentoring to do so - just one of the many things that make us a law firm you’ll like to work with.
