Why workplace wellbeing matters at LCF Law

Following our inclusion in The Sunday Times Best Places to Work, we delve into some of the many ways in which we support our colleagues’ wellbeing at work.

Our 30 second video gives an overview of the Sunday Times survey results for LCF Law.

Our team gave the firm an overall 86% score for wellbeing, which is 18% higher than the industry average.

Happiness: 88% of our team said they feel happy at work.
Working environment: 91% of our team said they are happy (and feel safe) with their working environment.
Mental health: 75% of our team said they rarely feel anxious or depressed about work.
Caring employer: 89% of our team said their employer cares for their wellbeing.

At LCF Law, workplace wellbeing is not merely a tick box exercise – it’s part of our culture. We see wellbeing not just as the absence of illness or distress, but as a state of optimal functioning and flourishing.

Our wellbeing strategy encompasses emotional, physical, social and financial wellbeing to help colleagues to be happy, healthy and content at work. This in turn promotes a healthy work-life balance, contributes to job satisfaction and career progression, and fosters effective engagement, morale, cohesion and productivity within teams.

Emotional wellbeing

Staff can access 24/7 telephone support, counselling and online resources through our Employee Assistance Programme. Our Wellbeing Champions are all qualified mental health first aiders while our quiet rooms allow colleagues to escape the office when they need to.

Physical wellbeing

Our health cash plan enables colleagues to claim money back towards healthcare costs and each colleague is assigned seven hours of paid wellbeing leave each year to attend appointments. Colleagues can also join one of our sports teams, get gym discounts and pick up free fruit from any of our offices.

Social wellbeing

Our social and charity committees organise a range of activities to help staff keep fit, have fun and socialise including sports, volunteering and social events. Everyone gets a full day off for their birthday and has access to flexible and hybrid working options, while various initiatives ensure that their achievements are recognised.

Financial wellbeing

We are conscious that many colleagues will be struggling with the current economic situation and offer regular salary reviews, cost of living support and free or discounted legal services. We also fund courses and memberships, provide support with travel and offer access to apps to bring further discounts to employees.

We are firm believers in work-life balance and we work hard to help our colleagues achieve this.
