Brendan Bah brings over 25 years of human resources expertise to our employment law team. He has extensive knowledge and skills across a wide range of HR and employment law-related matters including contracts, policies, legislative changes and employee relations.

Employee relations can encompass anything from absence management to disciplinary and grievance hearings, as well as all the relevant legislation that underpins employment law.

Brendan's previous experience has given him the ability to support many different clients, from large companies looking for specific legal advice to SMEs seeking general legal advice and/or HR support, as well as individual employees with employment issues.

For Brendan, this is the most satisfying aspect of employment law: the way in which it can be utilised to help large national companies, small family run businesses and individual workers alike.

Matters in which Brendan Bah has recently assisted:

  • Reviewed and revised a contract of employment and employee handbook, which led to creating six new bespoke policies for a large manufacturing organisation.
  • Provided advice and guidance to a small independent care home company on a complicated employee relations issue, which stopped them from breaching disability discrimination legislation.
  • Project managed the redundancy process for 200 employees following the closure of a large manufacturing plant, including 1:1 consultation meetings and all documentation (statements, confirmation letters etc.)
  • Carried out numerous complex and sensitive disciplinary and grievance investigations and hearings for a range of clients, from smaller educational institutions to large national and multi-national organisations.
  • Delivered bespoke training events for senior staff and managers across a broad spectrum of employee relations issues, including conducting effective investigations, holding disciplinary and grievance hearings and absence management.

Brendan is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).

He enjoys spending time with his two children and is an avid music fan, vinyl collector and gig-goer.
